About the event

 Eduardo Saucedo is internationally recognized for his love and passion of the dance. He travels the world sharing his knowledge and culture with the people he meets. He considers Tango to be an admirable art form that expresses body, mind, spirit and soul. His clear communication and positive energy motivates and inspires passion in everyone and reflects his love and joy of life. His teaching is creative and practical focusing on subtle details. The essence of the Milongas can be felt in Eduardoís dancing and teaching. His style originates from his working and co-hosting a popular Milonga in Buenos Aires for several years.  Eduardo has complemented this training with studies in various dance disciplines as well as theatre and acting,and is a continuing student of the Performing Arts. He has performed in theatres, appeared on television, and participated in various international tango festivals. He is the Creator, Director, Co-Coreographer and Co-Producer of the dinner show Tango Cafe- Una Noche Ideal, shown in the historical la Confiteria Ideal, as well as other shows.  In Buenos Aires, Eduardo teaches in his private Studio in Palermo, where many other activities and projects are being produced.

Friday, April 19th at Adrian's Home

6:00 – 7:00 pm Chamuyo and 7:00 – 9:00 pm Milonga

There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (chamuyo) with Eduardo Saucedo. Get to know him and his perspective on the music, dance, and culture of Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy the evening with this internationally renouned, master instructor from Buenos Aires. He's excited to be back, please come join in.

Continue the evening with a milonga so he can get to know us better before embarking on a weekend of classes. Adrian will be your DJ for the evening for this social dancing event at his home, 4375 Poinsettia Street, SLO: From SLO, south on Broad Street, left on Tank Farm, first right on Poinsettia. 4375 is 1/3rd mile on the right. From the south on 227, turn right on Fuller, then right on Poinsettia, 4375 is 50 yards on the right. Please bring a snack and/or a drink to share, donations appreciated.

Saturday, April 20th at Nexus

11:00 am – 12:30 pm Tango Timing (all levels)

Explore moving in single and double time to enhance your connection to the music. The details of these fundamental concepts will be of value to all levels of dancers.

12:30 – 2:00 pm Milonga

Happy Feet! Eduardo will have us all enjoying the fun of Milonga Lisa (smooth) and Traspie (syncopations).

2:30 – 4:00 pm Vals

Rocking in the house -- he will have us delighted with vals musicality as we explore the open and close side of the embrace.

Saturday Night! 6:00 – 9:00 pm Milonga - Social Dancing

Social dancing will start with recorded music. Then, we have a very special treat from 8 to 8:30, Live Music! $25 for the evening.

The Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet: Joining Charles (bandoneon) is GRAMMY-nominated Sascha Jacobsen on bass, pianist and composer Elyse Weakley and Central Coast violinist, Keiko Cadby.

Sunday, April 21st at Nexus

9:00 – 10:30 am Five Walks (all levels)

The 5 most important walks in tango. Reguardless of experience, you won't want to miss any of these.

10:30 am – 12:00 pm Sacadas

Take on the challenge of inside and outside sacadas for both tango and vals.

12:30 – 2:00 pm Combinations

Finish the weekend exploring some challenging combinations for Alternative tango.

Note that this Sunday schedule was moved up a couple hours so we can all have the option of attending the San Luis Coastal Unified School District Music Programs event with the Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet at 3pm at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church. Please follow this link for tickets and details to benifit local music programs.
