Studio Code of Conduct Agreement

All Nexus SLO activities are designed with professionalism and integrity at the forefront. We are

committed to providing a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment that seeks not only to instill

a love of dance in our students, but to develop important life skills as well-respect, confidence,

connection and joy.

 

To ensure a happy and positive experience for all involved, it is important that all students, attendees and staff understand and comply with the following code of conduct:

 

CODE OF CONDUCT​

1. Respect and Dignity: We've got a strict policy when it comes to discrimination and harassment. Save your comedic genius for the dance floor, not for slurs or name-calling. Trust us; nobody's laughing at that.

2. Cultural Comment Control: Please refrain from sharing your unsolicited thoughts on cultures, races, or anyone's favorite dance moves. We're here to groove, not to critique each other's backgrounds.

3. Comfort is Key: If someone's giving you the "awkward dance face," gracefully step back from those super-close dance positions or tricks. We promise, it won't ruin your rhythm.

4. Stay Sober, Dance Sober: Leave the intoxication to the dance moves, not substances or alcohol. Seriously, nobody wants to tango with that.

5. Discrimination Alert: If you spot any discriminatory or harassing behavior, report it to our staff faster than you can do the moonwalk. We'll handle it with all the seriousness it deserves.

 

STAFF AND STUDENT ETIQUETTE​

1. Fashionably Early: Arrive five minutes early for class - it's the only time it's cool to be ahead of the beat.

2. Role Model Mode: Be the Fred Astaire of positivity with your attitude and behavior. Leave the drama for ya mama.

3. Freshness Matters: We appreciate fresh moves, but please also practice good hygiene. Nobody wants to be in a dance-off with your sweat or breath!

4. Silent Phones, Happy Dancers: Phones on silent mode during class - we're here to dance, not to chat with Siri.

5. Trash Talk Cleanup: Dispose of trash properly, and clean up after yourself

6. Equipment Respect: Treat our studio equipment like it's a rare dance partner - with care.

7. Ask for Help: Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it - our staff is here to assist!

 

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Failure to comply will result in one warning. Further breaches may result in immediate cancellation of enrollment without refund or further discussion. For staff, it may result in immediate termination of employment or contract.
