About the event
Salsa Shines & Afro Movement Experience with Zweli Barton
Join us for a full evening with world champion dancer Zweli Barton, bringing his signature blend of Afro movement, musicality, and salsa shines to Nexus.
We’ll kick things off with an Afro Movement workshop (4–5 PM), focusing on grounding, rhythm, and body awareness which is the foundation for powerful, expressive dancing. This class is designed to connect you more deeply to the music, culture and your own movement.
After a meet & greet dinner (5–6:30 PM), we’ll dive into a Salsa Shines & Musicality workshop (7–8 PM), where Zweli breaks down how to interpret music, add texture to your movement, and bring your dancing to life through solo and partner work.
We’ll finish the night with a social (8–10 PM) featuring salsa, bachata, and more giving you the chance to apply what you’ve learned on the dance floor.
