About the event
The true magic of an Experiments in Rhythm class lies in the way the space is held.
From the welcoming atmosphere to the gradual and mindful progression of activities, every aspect is designed to support and nurture the participants. Every class is a unique and organic experience, designed to evolve with the energy of the group and the atmosphere of the space.
We always begin with a fun & engaging arrival, which may include name, rhythm, and movement games to create a sense of community and ease everyone into the session.
Throughout the class, various elements might emerge, such as partner games that emphasize connection and collaboration. These activities often lead to discussions about witnessing others in movement and exploring the concept of feeling before form.
Music plays a vital role in our classes, serving as a dynamic partner that influences our movements. The carefully curated musical progression supports the flow of the session, enhancing the overall vibe and helping participants connect with the rhythm.
We embrace a style-agnostic approach, incorporating movement concepts from various disciplines without adhering to any specific style. This allows for a flexible and inclusive environment where everyone can find their unique expression. Partner concept cuing and guided exercises deepen this exploration, fostering a collaborative and creative atmosphere.
Classes typically conclude with open dance exploration, where the energy and concepts from the session culminate in a freeform celebration of movement. This final segment allows for spontaneous and joyful expression, leaving participants feeling connected and inspired.
