About the event
Ecstatic dance is a form of dance in which the dancers, without direction, surrender themselves to the experience and move freely as the music takes them, leading to a journey of awakenings. The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping to release physical, mental, and spiritual blockages to reach peace. Each dance is held in a safe and sacred container by facilitators and a professional DJ. It’s a place where every person can embody their unique expression while also connecting to a collective spirit. Modern ecstatic dance was revived by Gabrielle Roth in the 1970s and formalized in her 5 Rhythms practice; it is now found in variants across the world.
